There is such a high demand for houses in Amsterdam on AirBnB, that the website actively calls homeowners in the city. The homeowners are called by AirBnB headquarters in London. They are asked if they are interested in renting out their house. The homeowners that are called have stated to be interested in renting out their house. The revenue of AirBnB in Amsterdam is around 100 million euros. 5,5 million of the revenue is handed over to the city of Amsterdam, since guests pay city tax when they book a house via AirBnB.
