Corporations build fewer rental houses in The Netherlands

 

Housing associations in Holland have fewer rental houses built last year. Last year they realized new property to 7600, against 10,000 in 2009. The number of newly built rental housing declined, from 30,400 to 29,300.

That, according to provisional figures released by the Central Housing Fund announced Thursday. The financial regulator housing associations come later this year with final figures.

Corporations are also planning the next few years to build fewer rental houses in the Netherlands. They intend to include in the 2011-2015 period, 164,200 new apartments to realize. In the period 2009-2013 there were 204,100 according to their own plans. The number of new details on the figures are 59,000 and 95,200 for the period 2011-2015 to 2009-2013.
